Prediction Markets discussed in New York Times
In his Economix blog on the New York Times web site, Prof. Casey Mulligan of the University of Chicago asks: Can Prediction Markets Show Us the Way? The evidence suggests that prediction markets indeed yield high-quality predictions about future events. Even though economic theory still struggles with some aspects of such markets, the evidence from numerous prediction markets supports the idea that prediction markets are often more accurate than alternative forecasting methods.
